Nils Fischer is a saxophonist and bass clarinetist with a preference for low frequencies and deep woodwinds. He moves in different styles of jazz. Born in Gelsenkirchen in 1988, he enjoyed his first saxophone and ensemble lessons with Andreas Krennerich at the Germersheim Music School. In 2008 he moved to Lucerne to study music.

Urs Leimgruber, John Voirol, Nat Sue, Roli von Flue, Reto Suhner, Gerry Hemingway and Frank Möbus leave important traces in his musical education. In July 2013 he completes the “Master of Performance” and in February 2015 the “Master of Music Pedagogy”. His working band “The Great Harry Hillman” has been playing growing tours through Europe since 2009. In spring 2015 the quartet wins the “ZKB – Jazzpreis” at Moods (ZH). Nils Fischer is also a sideman with “Blaer”, “Der grosse Bär”, “Zurich Jazz Orchestra”, “Strahl.Loher.Fischer” and others.
