Tobias Pfister

Tobias Pfister is a saxophonist living in Zurich.

In areas between experimental, improvised music and jazz, he is involved in several national and international projects. He currently plays with Duo O:X, emitime, Duo PfisterPunkt, ramur and the Zurich Jazz Orchestra.

He is also a member of the Gamut Kollektiv, which stands for what is researching, searching and moving and provides a breeding ground for ideas, experiments and processes. In addition to the annual Gamut Festival, the collective organizes a concert series and collects and publishes background information on musical contexts.

Pfister has played several tours with various projects in the past, was a member of the Lucerne Jazz Orchestra and studied jazz saxophone at the Zurich University of the Arts from 2010 to 2015 and was the winner of the Friedl Wald Foundation’s sponsorship award in 2014.
