The extraordinary singer Viviane de Farias is from Ipanema and grew up in Brazil and Los Angeles. As a teenager, she received classical guitar lessons, but also sang bossa nova standards at an early age. Vivi now lives in Germany.

We philosophize with Viviane about her musical roots, about the fact that she sang a lot as a child and how important lyrics are in Brazilian music. “Because when you sing in Brazil, everyone sings along. That’s why at the concerts I always try to tell what it’s about, so you get into the atmosphere.”
