Born in Freiburg (D), her musical roots are in wind music. She began her music studies in orchestral music at the Musikhochschule Freiburg im Breisgau with Prof. Ifor James and subsequently with Prof. Bruno Schneider. After a year abroad at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY (USA) she returned to Germany and continued her studies at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen with Prof. Frank Lloyd.

After her studies she worked at the two Stuttgart musical houses, Apollo Theater and Palladium Theater. Along the way, she was also an adjunct in classical orchestras in the greater Stuttgart area, such as the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, Southwest German Chamber Orchestra Pforzheim, Württemberg Philharmonic Orchestra Reutlingen, Baden-Baden Philharmonic Orchestra.

In 2012 she moved to Switzerland with the musical production “Ich war noch niemals in New York” by Udo Jürgens. Since the end of the production she has been working as a freelance horn player. Her musical focus is in the crossover area. She has performed with the Pepe Lienhard Orchestra, SWR Big Band, German Pops Orchestra, Orchestra of Cultures, City Light Orchestra.

Anja Huber currently teaches at the Musikschule Hug in Zurich, the JUMBA in Affoltern am Albis and is a jury member at the German music competition “Jugend musiziert”.
