Tobias Friedli

Tobias Friedli (born December 19, 1978) grew up in Bonstetten-Wettswil. After graduating from the Wiedikon Cantonal School, he studied percussion at the Swiss Jazz School/University of the Arts in Bern, where he now lives and works.

As part of his training, he attended various workshops with international musicians (such as John Riley, Billy Hart, Lewis Nash, and Billy Drummond) and performed in various concerts with the Swiss Jazz School Big Band (including with Matthias Rüegg, director of the Vienna Art Orchestra, and the New York Voices). He was a long-time member of the Swiss Jazz Orchestra and the Swiss Army Big Band and has performed as a sideman in various formations in Switzerland and abroad.
