Nils Fischer is a bass clarinettist and saxophonist with a preference for low frequencies. He moves in various styles of jazz and experimental music. Born in Gelsenkirchen DE in 1988, he moved to Lucerne CH in 2008 to study music, where he still lives and works today, after his formative musical youth in Germersheim DE. His working band “The Great Harry Hillman” has been touring Europe and Asia since 2009. Nils plays with “Blaer”, the “Zurich Jazz Orchestra”, “Strahl.Loher.Fischer” and “Der Grosse Bär”, among others. He is also researching a solo set for bass clarinet and effects.

Nils teaches saxophone at the Rothenburg Music School and manages the office of the Mullbau (Lucerne venue for improvised music).
